Progress test 4: 22 – 26 May 2023

This study year’s fourht progress test will take place from the 22nd until the 26th of May. The test will be conducted using the adaptive method and can only be taken in an exam hall on a computer/laptop/chromebook. Every student will be provided with a location and time slot for their test by their own institution. Local rules apply regarding the starting time, extra time allocation etcetera.

Owing to the adaptive method, every student will be presented with a unique test fitted to their level. Consequently, every student will answer different questions. Thus, the method of commenting has changed: commentary can be submitted during moments of review. General remarks regarding the test and the adaptive method can be submitted through this website.

The results will be published around June 1st. Students can access the result through TestVision, where every answer has been marked either correct or false. Although the full question is not available, a description is provided for each question. If you suspect a question to be erroneous, you can use the official review moment to comment. Every institution provides these moments on a predetermined date after the announcement of the results.

Good luck with your progress test!

Nationwide online information meeting for the adaptive Progress Test: 14 September

Wednesday 14 September 2022 at 20:00 hours.

The adaptive Progress Test will replace the original, 200-question paper test from September 2022 onwards. However, adaptive testing is different on some aspects. All students are informed about the changes through their faculty, but there is also a nationwide meeting scheduled online. During this meeting, you will be informed briefly about the method of adaptive testing and what will change for you during the test. Furthermore, we invite you to ask any questions that you might have. The creators of the adaptive Progress Test will attend the meeting, as well as test analysts and the organization behind the Progress Test. They are more than happy to answer all your questions.

The link to this meeting will be shared with you shortly.

First large-scale adaptive Progress Test in September 2022

In September 2022, all medical students will make the adaptive Progress Test. Students from Groningen, Amsterdam (AMC and VUMC), Nijmegen, Rotterdam, Leiden and Maastricht will participate; Utrecht will follow later in 2023. After a successful pilot in May with smaller groups of students, the organization of the Progress Test is ready for large-scale adaptive testing. This means that, from September onwards, every student will make a Progress Test adapted to his or her knowledge level. This is quite a remarkable situation, where all medical faculties in the Netherlands together established a new, digital adaptive Progress Test of high quality.

More information on the adaptive Progress Test can be found under  Toetsinformatie.

The Progress Test will be held in the week of 26-30 September. Students from Maastricht will make this test already on the 21st of September. Every student will be allocated to a certain time slot; this will be done by your own faculty. De adaptive Progress Test will only be made digitally on campus. Testing from home is not possible any more, even with Procotoring.

Progress Test 25 May

On Wednesday the 25th of May, the fourth progress test of this study year will be held. The progress test will be either online or on paper. Students who make the test online with proctoring will not be able to comment on a question during the test, but they can leave their comments afterwards. Furthermore, keep in mind that you can only start with the progress test up till 60 minutes after the official start. After these 60 minutes, entering the test will no longer be possible.

As usual, the key will be available on Wednesday from 16 pm on this webpage. In case you want to comment on the test, the comment form will be available from Wednesday 25 May 16 pm until Thursday 26 May 16 pm. Please make sure that your comment meets the criteria for student comments, otherwise the committee will not take it into account. This form is only available for students who made the progess test on paper (written).

For students who made the progress test online using Testvision, comments can only be placed during the review of the test in Testvision from Wednesday 25 May 16 pm until Thursday 26 May 16 pm.

Good luck!

New Progress Test: adaptive testing

Starting the 1st of September 2022, the Progress Test will be held in an adaptive form. This means that the Progress Test will no longer be made by all students at the same time, but that every student will be assigned a time slot in the digital test environment to make his or her Progress Test. The transition to computer adaptive testing will result in several changes. These changes are explained in Adaptive Progress Test, which you can find under Test information. Additionally, answers to frequently asked question about adaptive testing can be found under FAQ.
